How this activity will help your learning
The Ethics court activity will help you learn about the way science and scientists work within society. It gives you some commonly-held opinions about animal welfare, challenging you to think them through and find out more about the science behind each one. The process will help you use scientific evidence and ethical enquiry to develop arguments and draw your own conclusions, giving you an insight into the applications and implications of science in everyday situations. The topics covered - cloning, genetic alteration, biodiversity and species reintroduction, selective breeding, use of animals in research and testing for drugs and treatments for humans and other animals - all feature in the National Curriculum for England and Wales.
