Welcome to the teachers' area for the RSPCA's Science, ethics and animals resource for GCSE science students. This is the place where you will find all the background information and extension activities you may need to make the most of each activity. You'll also be able to check out the National Curriculum and exam board links for each one, and link through to relevant RSPCA Education lesson resources.

Under each topic in these teachers' notes you can click on to relevant RSPCA Education lesson resources for GCSE science, covering a range of animal-related scientific and ethical topics designed to challenge students' thinking and judging skills.

We've included a full chart to show you how each of the topics we've covered in Science, ethics and animals links to the National Curriculum in England and Wales.

Each activity has further work and background information embedded in it. But if you think your group needs more, here's where you'll find extension activities designed to stretch their thinking a little further.
