How this activity will help your learning

The Value of life activity will show you how science and scientists work within society, particularly in relation to animals and animal welfare. It will help you learn about the way we value animals, and encourage you to think about how those values might have an impact on animals and on all our lives. It challenges you to work out how you yourself value all sorts of animals - from humans to caterpillars - in several different contexts. The process will help you use scientific evidence and ethical enquiry to develop your views and draw your own conclusions, giving you an insight into the applications and implications of science in everyday situations.
