Should we save oiled birds?

This activity focuses on the ethical issues raised during marine oil spills, which often affect sea bird populations and can lead to expensive rescue operations. It asks the students to consider how much they - and we as a society - value these animals, in the context of the environment, in relation to our feelings about other animals, and in terms of our own needs.
