Extension activities
Ask the students to describe what actions can be taken to help endangered or threatened species. Ask them to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of each methodology, such as:
- protecting habitats
- legal protection
- education programmes
- captive breeding programmes
- creating artificial ecosystems.
Ask the students to choose an animal from the list – ideally one that is from their own local area or country – and explore what they and/or their school could do to improve its chances of survival.
